1. Following up the superb, "Arise" from , Sepultura further progress there sound with this album, "Chaos A.D." which may be the best political recording in Metal history. Furthering the band's focus on the harsh treatment that the band's country Brazil had faced in that time and extending it towards the problems and grievences of ALL who live /5().

2. Of course, now I get it, hence the 4 stars. This album is def the grower album out of their catalogue - I've always liked the band since way back in the 90s I heard their radio1 interview around the time of Roots release and they talked about all my favourite heavy metal bands of the time - including Black Sabbath/5().

Sepultura were on a big experimental high, looking for new sounds to add to their own, Brazilian tribal music, punk rock, and Pantera-style groove metal were added to their repertoire of influences with Chaos A.D. and with all of that supported by a thrashy backbone, it worked extremely well, bringing us a riot starter of an album. As the 's dragged on and thrash metal had effectively died.

6. Black metal famously exploded with spectacular effect in the early 90s, with countries such as Norway, Sweden, Finland and Greece all picking up the torch. Nevertheless, the roots of the genre lie firmly in the 80s, and even though it was a sparser and less clearly defined movement back then, there are still plenty of classic albums that deserve your attention.
